Early Years Admissions
Children can join Danesfield Early Years at the start of each term. Nursery 1 pupils can join the year after they turn 2 and Nursery 2 pupils can join the term after they turn 3 years old.
The Nursery is available on a session basis. The requirement for Nursery 1 is 5 minimum core sessions (2 and half days) and 6 minimum core sessions (3 full days) for Nursery 2. The core sessions available are:
08:30 - 12:00 or 12:00 - 15:30 (includes a healthy freshly cooked lunch cooked by our Professional Head Chef)
Reception Admissions
Children are admitted into Reception in the September after their fourth birthday as full-time pupils. 20 places are available each year. Observations take place prior to entry the following criteria are used:
Category 1: Children already attending Danesfield Pre-School are given priority for 16 Reception places.
Category 2: Children with a sibling at Danesfield Manor School.
Families will be given one week to accept the offer and return the Acceptance Agreement together with the Deposit Fee. If places are not accepted, we will move down the list of registrations and offer the place to parents whose children who are not attending Pre-School.
Early Years Free Entitlement is available to all children from the term after their third birthday until they reach statutory school age (the term after they are five). However, a child is no longer eligible for Early Year Free Entitlement, if they attend a maintained nursery before statutory school age as funding cannot be claimed from both the maintained sectors.
If eligible for Early Years Free Entitlement your child is entitled to 15 hours for up to 36 weeks.
Years 1 - 6 Admissions
Places may be available in other year groups and parents are advised to contact the school to ascertain the situation. The children are invited to spend the day with a class within their current year group. Places are offered in Reception to Year 6 on a date of registration basis, using the same priorities as above.
We ask pupils to attend an informal visit, usually for a day, before an offer of a place is sent to parents.
Wraparound Care
We offer Breakfast Club at 8am every week morning during term time for all pupils.
We offer an After School Club (Superstars) until 6pm every weekday during term time for all pupils. Parents may choose to book their children into one of the following sessions:
Superstars 1 (15:30 - 16:30) Pupils are provided with a healthy snack and drink
Superstars 2 (15:30 - 18:00) Pupils are provided with a healthy tea and drink
